Shiheung Women's Welfare Center is designed to create an external space considering its public nature and access and an external appearance that forms a unique image of a center for women’s lifetime education and local activities. Its layout plan features an open square at the entrance that considers the connection between the urban axis and a nearby park, a recreation space with a new view using pilotis, and openness between the
building and the exterior space. Easy access for residents was facilitated by placing a sunken square at the entrance. We also pursued easy identification, space continuity and visual openness by installing a symbolic colonnade.
